STEAM Punks

Grades: K – 1st
Times: Tuesday from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Imagine a world where art and science intertwine to create a holistic approach to innovation. STEAM Punks will help students see how artistic thinking enhances problem-solving and scientific discovery! In this program, your child will explore how creativity fuels out of the box thinking. Students will blend the core elements of art with science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on projects like sound science and nature painting. STEAM Punks is where imagination drives innovation!

Jr. STEM

Is your student passionate about STEM? Are they eager to explore the world and discover new things? Jr STEM is the perfect class for them! From planets and dinosaurs to robots and beyond, this hands-on experience delves into a wide range of STEM concepts. Chemistry Magic

Grades: K – 1st

Put on your wizard hat, grab your wand, and get ready for a week of Magic! With an engaging mix of chemistry, physics, electronics, and creative engineering activities, kids will have fun making things, mixing things, and generally practicing their awesome STEM wizardry and topping it all off with a MAGIC SHOW!

Get ready for some action-packed Physics fun! In this exciting class, students will dive into physics concepts like forces and motion, gravity, and friction—all while having a blast! They’ll race cars down friction ramps to see how weight and surface textures impact speed, design and test their own catapults, build air-powered cars, and even launch rockets into the sky. Code & Construct

Take your robotics journey to the next level with LEGO Mindstorms! This class is designed for students with a basic understanding of block coding who are eager to enhance their programming skills. Using the advanced features of the Mindstorms platform, students will build and code robots capable of responding to their environment. They will tackle challenges that combine mechanical engineering with programming concepts, designing robots that can navigate obstacles, and complete tasks.

Intro to Drones

Grades: 9-12th graders
Times: Monday from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Dates: 2/10, 2/17, 2/24, 3/3, 3/17, 3/24, 3/31, 4/7

Take to the skies in our exciting Drone class! Students will dive into the fascinating world of Small Unmanned Systems in Aviation through hands-on simulations and interactive learning. They’ll explore the history of drones, master key concepts of drone flight, and discover essential strategies for planning and flying drones and airplanes. After completing 4 hours of simulated drone flights, students will fly small indoor drones, to conquer an exciting indoor drone challenge course.

Web Design

Grades: 6th – 12th
Times: Thursday from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

Let your creativity shine online! In this exciting hands-on class, students will learn how to build and launch fully functional websites from scratch! You’ll dive into the core web technologies—HTML for structure, CSS for style, and JavaScript for interactivity—to design webpages that look amazing and come to life. By the end of the class, you’ll not only understand the magic behind the web but also have your own personalized website to share with the world.

Video Game Design with Unity

Grades: 6-12th graders
Times: Thursday from 5:45 – 6:45 p.m.
Dates: 2/13, 2/20, 2/27, 3/6, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10

Learn how to design and build your own games in Unity! Students will learn to create 3D games, from coding player controls to building immersive worlds. Design, code, and bring your gaming ideas to life!

To register for this class, students must either complete the Video Game Development course or have prior experience with Python.

4-H Entrepreneurs

Grades: 6th – 12th
Times: Friday from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Dates: 2/14, 2/22, 2/28, 3/7, 3/21, 3/28, 4/4, 4/11

 

The 4-H Entrepreneur program teaches youth how to start their own business to sell products or services. Youth who attend the 4-H Entrepreneur training can host a booth for their business at a local venue, where they will sell their products/services directly to the public. Youth participants will learn-by-doing in this program –they create real businesses and can make real sales!
