Classroom Visits
The STEM Outreach Team at Utah Tech University is excited to pilot classroom experiences for 3rd-grade classes in the Washington County. Each experience includes four, 60-minute visits featuring engaging, maker-based, hands-on lessons.
Details:
Lessons cover a CodeHS module (or similar coding platform), align with associated SEEd standards, and emphasize learning through making.
All materials and instruction are provided by the STEM Outreach team. Teachers are expected to assist with classroom management and procedures.
All 3rd-grade classes at the school must opt to participate simultaneously.
Classroom visits take place on Wednesdays from 10:00–11:00 AM.
One additional adult volunteer is required for each classroom.
One school supported per month.
6 spots available for the 2025-2026 school year, with 3 spots reserved for Title 1 Schools and 3 spots available for any school to reserve.
WCSD: $2 per student, due to generous funding match.
Charter Schools: $6 per student.

STEM Center Field Trips
The STEM Outreach team at Utah Tech University offers 90-minute field trips for K–5th grade classes at the STEM Outreach Center, located in the Atwood Innovation Plaza. Each trip features three hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Details:
Field trips are held on Thursdays from 9:30–11:00 AM and 11:30 AM–1:00 PM.
Up to 100 students per trip. We encourage bringing all classes within the same grade band. If you need to bring more students, please contact our staff before scheduling.
A minimum adult-to-student ratio of 1:10 is required.
All participants must complete a UT Camps and Classes participation waiver before attending.
$1 per student.
